West Glacier to Coram. This trip is designed for those who want an unstructured experience on Class I and II sections of the middle fork of the flathead river . If you want to get away from the crowds of Glacier National Park and you have a "go for it" attitude, you will enjoy this experience. The day will start with an instructor covering safety, paddling strokes, and proper techniques for river paddling.

We start out early by shuttling your vehicle to the take-out in Coram then head to the river where paddling techniques are explained and practiced. Then you're on your own with your gear and map to continue down the river. There may be other guests in duckies or rafts with you depending upon that day's rentals, but you will probably split up after the instruction.

Along the way on this pristine section of the river you may see deer, elk, bear, moose, beaver and other animals of the area. There is also a variety of bird life including herons, bald eagles, various hawks and osprey. You will encounter Class I and II rapids and, you can enjoy maneuvering your raft or ducky through the current and small rapids on the Middle Fork. There's plenty of time to stop, go swimming, have a picnic lunch, fish for native Cutthroat and rainbow trout, or just relax and enjoy the tremendous scenery. All gear must be returned in good condition. Usually you can deflate rafts or duckies and transport them even in a fairly small car trunk. If you do not return them to our office, we have to keep a credit card open until we pick them up and inspect for damages.

All coolers, fishing gear, cameras, etc., should be tied into the raft in the event of capsizing. GLACIER RAFT COMPANY ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR PERSONAL GEAR. All trash MUST BE carried out with you. Fishing is catch and release.
