Fly Fishing on the Thompson River

Fly Fishing on the Thompson River

The Thompson River is located west of Kalispell, Montana, about an hour and a half from West Glacier, Montana.  The Thompson River is a free flowing river and houses almost every type of trout.  It flows into the Clark Fork River and has rainbow, brown and cutthroat.

We use dry flies, nymphs and streamers.

Wear nylon pants and buzz off clothes to keep the bugs away.  You should also wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. On cool days this trip requires waders and wading boots with mostly wade fishing, although, some sections are floatable at certain water levels.

This trip can also be a multi day trip with cabin and meals provided. Multi Day:1-4 fishermen: $400/day/person (Min $1,600).

All fishing trips depart from Glacier Outdoor Center. Check in 30 minutes prior to trip departure.

A Montana Fishing License is required for Daily Fly Fishing Trips. Licenses can be purchased at Glacier Outdoor Center prior to departure.
